Paestum is a Latin typeface inspired by Greek inscriptions of the 6th and 5th centuries B.C. Ms. Twombly has reconnoitred this terrain (Lithos). So have Adrian Frutiger and others, but none of these have supplied a lower case. Paestum is of course a very apposite name for the face, as this is the Latin name for the former Greek city of Poseidonia, south of Naples. The two remaining Doric temples on the site have been visited by innumerable celebrities on the Grand Tour of the 1700s and the early 1800s.
