DESIGNER: Lars Bergquist
New Millennium is the name of three font families which share a common design philosophy, a common x-height, and basic character shapes. They are thus useful in combination with each other. Still, they belong to three distinct type groups: New Millennium, New Millennium Sans, and New Millennium Linear. New Millennium, without any qualification, is a serif face. Many would describe it as a 'modern style' typeface because of the flat serifs, but letterforms are quite different from the 'classic' Bodoni or Didot pattern. This is very evident already in the regular or plain style, and even more in the italic, which is a pretty radical departure from tradition. New Millennium is a clear, strict and businesslike typeface, well suited to technical and scientific documentation and the like.
