DESIGNER: Lars Bergquist
Eleonora does to some extent defy the standard categories. Had this typeface been designed in around 1790, it would no doubt have been characterized as a late transitional face and classed with Bell and Bulmer. It is however a 'modern modern face,' with characters showing more restraint in their details than even Baskerville. The roman is accompanied not by a traditional, script-like italic but by a more severe Oblique with many roman features, such as the baseline serifs. Eleonora Alternative is an accompanying one-style face that contains small caps, standard caps, and full uppercase figures that are monospaced.
