DESIGNER: Patricia Lillie
When I first had the idea for Sluggo, a loose, 3D-ish face with the look of a slightly sloppy brush line, I thought it would be a fairly quick and easy project. Silly me. It turned out to be one of the toughest faces I've designed. Each character was drawn and redrawn directly in Macromedia Fontographer(tm) using a stylus and pressure-sensitive tablet. It took about 50 versions of each glyph to get both the shape and line to what I wanted. Then, of course, each had to be painstakingly cleaned up and made usable in a font (printer crashes are a drag). Many months later, Sluggo was finally finished (so much for quick!). All in all, I'm pretty pleased with it. Has five styles: Regular, Lefthook, Open, and Righthook. And you can stack them for special effects.
